LASER DENTISTRY

It’s a welcome boon for patients who do not look forward to needles, bleeding, drilling or numbness. Being a minimally invasive option, LASERs are extremely focused light beams for tissue alteration/removal/rejuvenation. LASERs deliver energy in the form of light. Depending on intended result, this energy travels at different wavelengths and is absorbed by target areas. It’s being used for both hard (tooth) and soft tissue (gums, mucosa) related procedures. Most of the time local anaesthesia is not needed.

Unlike the conventional drills using hand piece airotors, with LASER, there is no vibration or heat, making the treatment more comfortable for the patients. For soft tissue surgical procedures, it eliminates the need for suturing and healing is faster.
