2. EXPANSION APPLIANCES
WHO NEEDS EXPANSION APPLIANCE?

Patients who have relatively smaller upper arch width (narrow arches), those having adenoids, deviated lower jaw owing to narrow upper arch, any syndromic condition leading to narrow upper jaw width up to the age of 15 years are indicated. They are treated using an expansion appliance which expands their narrow arches providing proper space for permanent teeth eruption, space for accommodating tongue and thereby treating the resulting consequences of narrow upper arch.
